Turn your telescope, spotting scope, or DSLR camera into a solar scope! The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter is a must-have accessory perfect for viewing the Sun and eclipses like the upcoming 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse and 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Affordable, easy to use, and best of all, Solar Safe, this filter conforms to the ISO 12312-2:2015(E) international safety standard. The EclipSmart Universal Solar Filter works with any optic or lens measuring 75 to 100 mm in diameter, including telescopes, spotting scopes, and DSLR camera lenses. The solar filter fits around your optical device with adjustable side panels that secure with a rubber band for a snug fit. We include (2) rubber bands, but we recommend that you change out the bands frequently.  To replace use #32 rubber bands. When it’s not in use, fold the filter flat and place it inside the reusable bag.

When utilizing this filter alongside your DSLR camera, it is advisable to employ a lens sunshade to expand the lens diameter. This will facilitate the secure attachment of the filter using the included rubber bands. For optimal stability, we suggest employing a tripod, monopod, or any other stabilizing device for your camera setup. Please limit continuous usage to a maximum of 3 minutes, while intermittently using it for extended periods of several hours.

A critical precaution to bear in mind is never to employ the filter if your camera is equipped with an optical viewfinder. If you are uncertain about the type of viewfinder on your camera, it is advisable not to use this Celestron filter. Always ensure that the filter is placed directly onto the camera lens during imaging, never between the viewfinder and your eye.

If you contemplate using tape to secure the filter, Celestron recommends opting for low tack painter's tape to prevent any potential damage to your optics.
