This pendant contains a thin slice of Muonionalusta meteorite, the first pieces of which were discovered by two children in 1906. The Muonionalusta meteorite is an ancient fall – over one million years old. The meteorite exhibits an exceptional iron-nickel crystal structure called a Widmanstätten pattern, which only becomes apparent after the meteorite is sliced and acid-etched. The crystal pattern makes each slice from this meteorite unique and uniquely beautiful – a four billion year old gem of the early solar system!"
