This is a sweet ED80 apochromat for a low, low price.  It's in excellent condition, with clean glass, and only slight marks on the tube.  It comes in a terrific, foam-lined Pelican case that is extremely rugged.
It does not have any eyepieces or a diagonal, but it does include a 6x30 finder and its original manual.  It has a built-in Vixen dovetail plate attached to the bottom of the tube, but it also comes with Losmandy rings and adapters.  (See photos.)  These will let you attach this scope to a Losmandy plate that's already on your scope.  So, if you've got, say, an 8" SCT, and you want some wide-field views, you can get a Losmandy plate and attach it to the top of your 8" OTA, and slap this 80ED OTA on there, and you're all set.
This is a steal at half-price and won't last!

Interested in owning a premium apochromatic refractor without having to take out a second mortgage? Then check out our amazingly affordable ED80 80mm extra-low dispersion Apochromatic Refractor Telescope optical tube. This is one sweet telescope for astrophotography or visual use.

It's a sweet telescope all right. With a focal length of 600mm (f/7.5), the "ED80" is wonderfully suited for visual applications on both solar system and deep-sky objects as well as for prime-focus astrophotography and charge coupled device or, "CCD" imaging.

The ED80 refractor telescope sports a multi-coated 80mm aperture objective lens doublet, one element of which is crafted from Extra-Low Dispersion, or "ED" optical glass. This high-grade glass greatly reduces the chromatic aberration inherent in standard achromatic refractor telescopes. Images and views appear more sharply focused and color fringing around bright objects is lessened dramatically. The refractor objective lens is held in a machined, black anodized aluminum cell and shaded by an aluminum dew cap. Precisely positioned internal tube baffles ensure high contrast and prevent ghosting.

The Orion ED80 refractor features a superb, backlash-free 2" Crayford-style focuser, which accepts both 2" and 1.25" diagonals. Notice the focus wheels: classy, brushed-aluminum hubs with ridged rubber grip rings. Nice touch. Set the focuser tension or lock it for imaging with the focus lock knob.

At a tube length of just 23", this ED80 refractor is an extremely portable telescope. We're proud to offer the ED80 at an affordable price so the rest of us can enjoy the pleasures of a premium refractor without the pain of the premium price!
