This is a Japanese-made Celestron LPR filter to screw onto your Celestron or Meade SCT back.  It is in very good condition.  The optics show some very minor amounts of dust and signs of use, but this should not affect your views.  The body is clean.  Comes in its original jewel case and box.  Snap this up at HALF-PRICE before someone else does!

Our 1-1/4" Light Pollution Reduction (LPR) Filters are designed to selectively reduce the transmission of certain wavelengths of light, specifically those produced by artificial light. This includes mercury vapor, and both high and low pressure sodium vapor lights, and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. sky glow). As result, this filter will darken the background sky making deep sky observation and photography of nebulae, galaxies, etc. possible from urban areas.

While blocking unwanted light, LPR filters permit the transmission of more desirable wavelengths (over 90%): hydrogen alpha and beta, doubly ionized oxygen, and singly ionized nitrogen. This filter is threaded for the rear cells of Celestron or Meade SCTs. This is the first larger aperture LPR - Light Pollution Reduction ever offered: 43mm clear aperture for unvignetted use. It can be use for visual and astrophotography.

The multi-layer dielectric coatings are plasma assisted and Ionbeam hardened using the latest technology for durability and resistance to scratching.
