Description

QHY OAG-M Off-Axis Guider - Medium Features

  • Off-Axis Guiders simplify guiding by sharing the same optical path for guiding and imaging cameras, unlike other configurations like a guidescope.
  • Includes a helical focuser inside the OAG that can be loosened and locked using a thumb accordingly.
  • The OAG-M supports cameras with a 4/3, crop (APS-C, APS-H) or full frame sensor.
  • OAG-M only is 10mm thick adding minimal backfocus which can increase to 13mm with the addition of adapters.
  • Telescope interface of M54/0.75
  • Accomodates guide cameras with a 1.25" interface.
  • 62mm diameter M3 screw holes

Supports Cameras with a 4/3, Crop or Full Frame Sensor

Unlike other guiding configurations such as a guidescope, an Off Axis Guider (or OAG) simplifies this process by having both the guiding and regular imaging camera share the same optical path. In the case of the QHY Off Axis Guider Medium, the unit is designed to be compatible with cameras with a 4/3, crop or full frame sensor and various filter wheels. This includes QHY16200A, CFW3-M, CFW3-L, QHY268, QHY600, QHY294 Pro, QHY163, QHY128, QHY247, QHY367,QHY168, and QHY410. To connect the OAG-M to a QHY Color Filter Wheel or QHY A series camera, all the user must do is screw in the six 3mm holes to connect the two devices. For guide cameras, the accomodated interface is 1.25" while the telescope interface is M54/0.75.

The helical focuser inside the OAG-M can be adjusted and locked. The thumb must be loose when adjusting or damage to the prism and unit may occur. Once sufficient focusing is achieved, lock the thumb.

With a body thickness of only 10mm, the OAG-M is relatively thin adding only minimal backfocus to the imaging train. When adding on the M42 thread or M54 adapter ring, this increases to 13mm and further more if additional adapters are installed.
