Refractor Telescopes

Refractors are the oldest type of telescope first turned toward the stars by Galileo. Basic starter refractors with two class elements called Achromats will exhibit some purple fringing on bright objects. Modern refractors called Apochromats or APOs with three lens elements provide exceptional color correction and sharpness, and are prized by imagers and visual astronomers alike.
