ASI1600 IMAGE QUALITY
The ZWO ASI1600 has a built-in 12-bit ADC but can provide over 12 stops of dynamic range! Which means it can capture a wider tonal range a KAF-8300 sensor. The Camera inherently has a much lower read noise, at a 0 gain setting and will further decrease the higher the gain.
It also includes an upgraded PCB board with 256MB DDR3 memory buffer. Slow data transmission can cause amp-glow around your image, so the DDR memory buffer takes care of that for you.
MOST ADAPTABLE CAMERA BODY
Most ZWO cooled cameras have a short back focus, making them very adaptable to almost any telescope system. The ZWO ASI 1600 has a back focus of 6.5 mm! Check the ZWO Pro Back Focus Chart for the best configurations.
TWO-STAGE COOLING SYSTEM
The ZWO ASI1600 is capable of pushing at a maximum of 40 to 45 degrees below the ambient temperature. The camera itself operates optimally within the temperature range of minus 5 degrees Celsius to minus 45 degrees Celsius and is best stored within the temperature range of minus 20 degrees Celsius to minus 60 degrees Celsius.
This powerful cooling system complements the naturally low read noise of the camera to further refine the quality of images produced- aiding ZWO to continue to provide CCD quality at CMOS prices.
