This is a Hyperstar 6 v4 for a 6" SCT. It is in excellent optical quality, with no sleeks, smudges, or scratches on the glass. This includes the Hyperstar itself, the secondary mirror holder, secondary mirror mounting plate with knob, box and dust caps.

This also includes the Starizona modular filter slider, a $149 value.

Description:

HyperStar is based on Celestron's innovative Fastar feature. This feature allows the secondary mirror to be removed from Celestron's Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. By mounting the HyperStar lens assembly in place of the secondary mirror, a CCD camera can be mounted at the front of the telescope allowing for a wider field of view and much faster imaging.

The HyperStar lens assembly works with a variety of cameras. Different cameras require different adapters, however. One adapter is included with the HyperStar lens. Please specify the camera being used when ordering.

A holder is included for safe storage of the secondary mirror while imaging.

The HyperStar systems allows the telescope to operate at a focal ratio of f/2, an incredible 25 times faster than the standard f/10 focal ratio! Images can be obtained in just seconds!

Starizona Modular Filter Slider

If you're ordering a Modular Filter Slider to use with your HyperStar, you will also need to purchase a Filter Slider Adapter for your camera of choice to reach the correct backfocus and attach the Modular Filter Slider to your HyperStar.


The Modular Filter Slider improves on our original Filter Slider design by allowing customization through interlocking modular top and bottom plates, making it more adaptable to various optical systems and by adding better protection against light leaks.

New, Thicker Plates Now Available

To make our Modular Filter Slider easier to incorporate into common optical trains, we have made thicker female threaded plates available.  These plates are 3.5mm thicker than our usual plates, making the total height of the Modular Filter Slider 21mm when a thicker plate is selected.  

The new plate options are:

    • Female M42 (+3.5mm height)
    • Female M48 (+3.5mm height)
    • Female M54 (+3.5mm height)

Starizona will still support the previous Starizona Filter Slider by making drawers and filter slider replacement tops available for the foreseeable future. Please contact Starizona if you need help adapting your Original Filter Slider Complete.
    2. Original Filter Slider Filter Holders and Top Plates are NOT compatible with the New Modular Filter Slider. Likewise, the new Modular Filter Drawers, Top Plates, and Bottom Plates do not work with the Original Starizona Filter Slider.
