Japanese-made, this is a used, fully multi-coated 23mm eyepiece with 1.25-inch barrel. This is in excellent but used condition: the glass is clean, as is the barrel, which shows some wear.
This one was used by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in their Questars, and has been modified for use in the shorter Questar focuser. The only difference we can see between this and a non-modified unit is that the 1.25" barrel has been shortened. However, we have tested this out in a refractor, reflector, and SCT here in the store, and the eyepiece fits and stays in the focusers just fine.
The Ultima 23mm is a fully multi-coated wide-field eyepiece, renowned for its incredibly sharp, bright, contrasty views, from edge to edge of its 70-degree field. Great on the moon and planets.
