This is a set of four wooden cases made of acacia wood. They are beautiful and are in excellent condition, with two exceptions. These wooden cases are from the estate of Thomas Shea, user name "teashea" on Cloudy Nights. Mr. Shea was known there for his extensive collection of more than a dozen Taks and mounts.
We received these cases (along with all of his other astronomy gear) as part of his estate. Each box has exterior dimensions of 14" L x 7 1/2" W x 3 1/2" D. The interior dimensions are 13" L x 6 1/4" W x 2 3/4" D, with 2" of depth being in the bottom part of the case, and an additional 3/4" of depth due to clearance in the lid.
Originally designed as tea boxes for storing tea bags, the boxes have different interiors - two have 4 wooden slats going horizontally, dividing the box into 5 compartments; another has 3 wooden slats, dividing the box into 4 compartments. These last two boxes have one hinge that has been slightly warped, but otherwise, these two boxes open and close just fine. See the photos.
The first two boxes are $30 each; the last two are $25 each; take all four for just $90 and save $20 off of buying them individually.
